A £1 million grant scheme has opened to help owners bring Glasgow's vacant listed buildings back into use.
The Heritage Building Viability Grant Scheme is funded by Glasgow City Council and run by Glasgow City Heritage Trust. Grants of £15,000 to £350,000 are available for individual projects.
The money can be used for work such as building services, fire safety improvements, internal finishes, professional fees and other changes needed to make empty spaces usable.
The funding was approved in the council's 2026/27 budget in February, and in March the City Administration Committee agreed the trust would run the programme.
Depute council leader Ruairi Kelly said ending empty property relief had pushed many owners to bring buildings back into use, but for some properties the cost of the work was simply too high.
Dr Erin Russo, grants manager at Glasgow City Heritage Trust, said too many historic buildings sit empty because of the gap between repair costs and value. She encouraged owners of vacant listed buildings to contact the trust's grants team to check whether they are eligible.
