Six Glasgow employers have been given the Ministry of Defence's highest award for supporting the Armed Forces community.
Indigo Unified Communications, Insite Group Holdings, Norsk Tactical, ON Facilities Management, Prime Secure Capital and the Glasgow Pram Centre each received a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award on Thursday 15 October.
The awards were presented in the Great Hall of Edinburgh Castle by Major General Bob Bruce, Governor of Edinburgh Castle, on behalf of the Defence Secretary. In total, 162 organisations were recognised.
Gold is given to employers that go beyond signing the Armed Forces Covenant. They must give Reservist staff 10 days of paid or unpaid leave for annual training, allow time off for military duties and actively support veterans and service leavers into work.
Veterans minister Calvin Bailey said having a supportive employer makes an enormous difference to veterans starting a new chapter and to Reservists balancing two roles.
Norsk Tactical group chief executive Stewart Davis, who served in the Armed Forces and the Reserves, said the award was a landmark achievement for the business.
