Talks over Glasgow City Council's contested overhaul of pay and grading are continuing, with the Scottish Government now involved.

Unison is pushing for a better deal for its members, while the GMB and Unite have signalled they are willing to put an offer to a vote.

Separate figures show that around 11% of council employees could lose out under the proposed new pay system. Councillor Paul Carey has said some constituents are 'genuinely frightened' by the prospect.

Freedom of Information figures also show that 23 senior council staff received promotions, temporary promotions or regradings between 2023 and 2026.
